Anyone know where I can register for a .cn domain for 1 yuan (where they'd let a foreigner register)? I've tried Google searching for sites but I get stuck where it says ID number (apparently they only let people with Chinese IDs through. :![]()

Somehow I don't trust sites that:
1 - have no Alexa rank
2 - have a PR of 0
Is that a random site? ???
Like I said, I was able to find some pretty professional-looking Chinese registrars with high PR but they did not seem to accept my ID number (because it doesn't have the same number of digits as the Chinese ID numbers).
Please don't mislead anyone in here by posting random registrars that might end up robbing me off. :![]()

I don't think any of the "professional" registrars will offer the .cn at the CNNIC promotion price (1yuan). In fact most have kept their old prices. To get the 1yuan promotion you should use the services of one of the smaller companies (i.e. no PR or Alexa rank). These are usually one-guy businesses and for ID the owner will be using his own to register the domain. A Baidu search will provide you a list of a couple of those.
For credibility of Chinese sites I rather check domain age (through whois) rather than Alexa rank because very few people have alexa toolbar installed in China so a site that is well used by Chinese may end up with an alexa rank that does not reflects its popularity.
You just contradicted yourself. :Originally Posted by weblover

@ ChinaSEO, lots of registrars seem to be offering .cn for 1yuan. Except their registration forms require you to submit a Chinese ID number...unfortunately.
I am sure you have a Chinese friend who can helpOriginally Posted by rawpinions
