Moving your site to a new hosting provider in China: six-steps guide

The prospect of moving an existing site to a new hosting account is often a daunting one. Whether you are planning the move because of poor service/performance of current host, or because of other reasons, including better price/value of the new host, location (moving your site to China for faster access within the country) etc., good planning and preparation is the key to ensure full success....

Even if you move your site to some other hosting company with the time problems will come . As far as i know all the hosting companys at some point have there updates or server issues so its best just to run some apache version to your pc and be your own hosting provider . This way you wont depend on some other services or thinks ..

The most important thing for me is backing up data. BTW, don't forget this step:

Research about other hosts and read genuine user reviews.

Very true rawpinions, and on top of regularly backing up your data, it makes sense to keep your host separate from the company where you purchase your domain name. You don't want to be stuck with your host or lose the domain name you have been promoting for months/years when you try to switch of hosting company.

That's how I got my very first site this year. :-\ I didn't know anything about all this...so I totally fell for the "free domain" feature provided by the web host. NEVER again. Total control of your domain name is KEY!!!

If you do something that gets your hosting suspended you might lose your domain too.
